Dogwood

Behind the green tree from yesterday's post, there is a small dogwood tree that is starting to bloom. None of the lower flowers are out yet, so all I could get was this one that I had to stand on my toes for.

Earth Day

Continuing archive week. I took this picture in March 2006 during spring break. My brother Jose, friend Tim and I took a road trip across all New Mexico. Albuquerque is known for its hot air balloons. I actually got lucky with this picture, as I took it as we were driving down the highway.

Collecting Pollen

I've decided to make this archive week. I took this picture last September when I joined my brother Jose and his girlfriend in Portland. One of the places we visited was the Chinese garden. Sailing With the Sun

This is another archive picture. I took this picture last June, two days after moving to Seattle. I was exploring the area and ended up at the Kirkland Marina which overlooks Lake Washington. Ever since then, I enjoy returning there and contemplating the beauty of nature.

Taking a Break

I didn't have a picture for today, so I decided to post from my archives. I took this picture of these two blue birds on Saturday at Juanita Bay Park. These blue birds didn't like to sit still. They would only spend a few seconds on this branch before swooping away to go catch some insects.

Snoqualmie Falls

Drove up to Snoqualmie Falls in the early afternoon. I've heard so much of this place in the last couple of months that I had to see it for myself. I was not disappointed. I'll just have to return when there is a bit more water.

I liked Juanita Bay Park so much, that I went back today for more pictures. The only problem was that I went right at dusk and the lighting wasn't that great. However, this one managed to come out ok.

Hanging Around

So you thought that only fruit grew on trees? Well, this tree seems to grow shoes, some are very ripe... Now if I could only find one that grows money. But seriously, I came across this tree after church today. It's in front of a fraternity near the University of Washington.

Dental Hygiene Technology

I had no picture for today and then after brushing my teeth I got this funny idea. Perhaps not the best composition, but it's late and don't have much time to play around with it.

Red and Green

Sun shining through some colorful leafs. These may only be bushes, but they still look neat. They almost look as if it were a poinsettia, but in the wrong season. I like how the sun highlights the edges of some of the leafs (click for better image).

On a dumb little side note, I thought it was funny that the difference between this title and the title of my post two days ago was the logical operator 'and'.

Spherical Puzzle

I was at a puzzle shop store today an saw this really neat 3D puzzle globe. I didn't know it when I bought it, but to my surprise all the pieces were numbered. So maybe it's not as challenging, but it's still fun to put together.

Red or Green?

Lately I've been noticing different designs of fire hydrants and have gotten more interested in them. Just on my walk to work, there are three different designs all on the same street. I think they look neat, so I'm going to start a collection of different hydrants. This one is at Discovery Park in north Seattle.
