Some days it can be hard to take a picture. Today was one of those. Even after it started to hail, I wasn't very inspired. So anyway, I went behind my apartments, froze my butt off and took this picture.
...Keeps the madness away.
My camera follows me wherever I go.
It takes a few pictures each day and I try to choose the best one.

Splash
As I walked home from work a few days ago, I noticed the splash some steady streams of water were making on the pavement. I thought it would make a good picture, but it was dark, cold and wet. So today that it rained, I remembered the splash and went back and took this picture. The lighting wasn't great and it came out a bit grainy, but I still think it's a neat picture.
Fun fact: it took me 70 pictures to get this shot. I did have a few others with only one splash or two, but this was the best one. Thank goodness for digital cameras.

Three
As I made my lunch sandwich today in the morning, I finished off the ham, cheese and tomato. Then, after grinding pepper on top, I noticed that I happened to have three slices of ham, three slices of cheese and three slices tomatoes. Thinking that nothing else interesting would happen during the day, I decided to take a picture of this grouping of three. Yes, I know it's a lame picture and sandwich.

Chinese New Year
Today is the Chinese New Year and it's the Year of the Pig. I went to Chinatown in the international district too see if there were any celebrations or activities. There was a Lion dance group going from business to business to usher in the Lunar New Year and evict bad spirits. The lions were accompanied by drums, gongs and firecrackers. See this location in Live Maps.

Island of Trees
I drove to Yakima today. Not really to do or see anything specific, but just to know a different part of the state. On the way there from Seattle you have to drive through Snoqualmie Pass. I'm not sure of the elevation, but there are several feet of snow and it's a great place for skying. I-90 passes next to Keechelus Lake and has an amazing vantage point of the frozen lake and the mountains behind it. See this location in Live Maps.

Aquarium Fish
I went to get an oil change today. Yes, I'm a robot. In the waiting lounge at the car dealership, there is a small aquarium with a couple of fish. I wonder what it feels like to go around in circles. This poor guy here didn't even go around the entire tank, it only went around the same fake corals over and over again. Must gave gone mad...

Cork Stoppers
As a suggestion from my college adviser, I am turning my Master's thesis into an article for submission to a few machine learning journals and conferences. I thought to myself, what better place to get myself reacquainted with my year old thesis than a coffee shop. Just like in college. So if I'm at a coffee shop, where did those corks come from? Well, it just so happens that this coffee shop in Kirkland, is also a wine bar. At the end of the bar, they have a large crystal glass filled with wine cork stoppers. A couple of my previous posts show the design they make with the milk froth on the mochas.
